Our Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) nominee, Desiree Guerra, was accepted to join this program held in Canberra and she attended in Jan 2020. Desiree will shortly be attending a Club Meeting to update us on what was involved.

"Thank you Rotary Club of Merimbula for the amazing opportunity given to represent your club and supporting me in this years RYLA, to President Andy for believing in me too. Thank you Tony for checking up how can I get to RYLA and checking how was I during the intense program. Thank you to Annette and Sue for seeing how RYLA would benefit me.
RYLA pushed me out of my comfort zone. I met brilliant people and it helped me learn so much about myself. I got to hear from incredible speakers who shared their views on leadership and their life experiences. Everyone in the camp was so friendly and kind - it makes me so hopeful and optimistic of our future leaders.

Through RYLA, Rotary shows its commitment to youth, youth development and supporting young people volunteering. Hope the club will continue this cause in the many years to come. "
